Alverno Heights Academy is an independent, Catholic, TK-8th grade for girls and boys and a college preparatory school for young women in grades 9-12. We are dedicated to preparing our students to function in a society as informed. knowledgeable persons. who have the requisite skills to make and implement mature decisions about complex problems.

Academics:
Alverno's academic philosophy is to -educate the whole" student academically, spiritually, aesthetically, socially and physically while mindful of the values of the Immaculate Heart Community and our Franciscan roots. This is evident in academic, activity and Christian service programs.
Our mission is to empower students from diverse ethnic. socioeconomic. and educational backgrounds to pursue a college preparatory education. Reading and writing skills, as well as oral participation, are given great emphasis in preparing our students for the challenges of the larger world. Class activities address different learning styles and are designed to encourage student creativity.
Team Sports:
Following our philosophy and mission, Alverno athletics emphasize important lifelong lessons that transcend the playing field. Student athletes learn self-discipline, team work, commitment and sportsmanship through participating in sports, in addition to developing self-confidence, celebrating success and making lasting friendships.

Alverno Heights Academy encourages its students to reach out — to explore new horizons, to get involved in global concerns. and to help shape ideas and technologies of the future. Nearly all Alverno students participate in some form of student activities. Student government plays an important role in shaping the school calendar and channeling the efforts of classes. The student leadership program is modeled after the United States Government. Organizations and clubs are plentiful, providing something for everyone: school and community service, academic competitions, cultural interests, spirit building. publications, and the development of special talents.

Alverno has a 100% college acceptance rate among students who graduate from the Upper School with all of our graduating seniors being 4-year college eligible.
